Unit 1 - What is Environment?
The opening course unit provides candidates with a broad introduction to the environment as a concept, introducing the ecosystem and its core components, discussing the manmade environment and exploring both the food web and the food chain.
Unit 2 - Global Environmental Issues
A series of key contemporary environmental issues are introduced and investigated in the second unit, which primarily focuses on the threat to biodiversity, global warming and the causes, effects and possible responses to climate change.
Unit 3 - Environmental Planning
The essential fundamentals and ultimate goals of environmental planning take precedence in Unit 3. Content incorporates the investigation of environmental management and evolution, the fundamentals and principles of sustainable development and the concept of sustainable environment.
Unit 4 - Environmental Management Systems
This unit introduces an array of core concepts in relation to environmental management systems, including important ISO standards, PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act), energy efficiency, the environmental audit, environmental accounting, impact assessment, effect measurement, environmental trade shifts and more.
Unit 5 - Environmental Law
This unit outlines the statutory regimes for the control of pollution. It also discusses the main legal requirements for the management of waste in detail. In this unit the students also explore main legal requirements for the management of water.
Unit 6 - Environmental Policy
Unit 6 discusses the key requirements for an environmental policy and Identifies the key considerations that should be taken into account when developing an environmental policy.
Unit 7 - Planning for Environmental Improvement
In this units the students learn about Identifying environmental impacts that arise from environmental aspects. They also learn about evaluating the significance of environmental aspects.
