Module 4 - Environmental Management Systems

Module 5 - Environmental Law

Course content then shifts focus to the legal aspects of environmental planning and management, concerning the legal obligations of businesses and the general public where pollution and preservation are concerned.  Candidates are also introduced to the basics of water management, waste management and related legal subtopics.

Module 6 - Environmental Policy

Module six explores the art of effective environmental policy development, outlining the most important elements of a viable environmental policy and providing helpful guidelines for effective policy implementation.  The functions, objectives and limitations of environmental policy development are also considered.

Module 7 - Planning for Environmental Improvement

The concept of continuous improvement in the field of environmental management is examined in the seventh module, in which candidates learn how to assess and measure the performance of existing environmental policies and practices. Tools, techniques and activities for achieving continuous improvement are introduced and discussed.

Module 8 - Implementing Environmental Performance Improvements

Module eight takes a closer look at the successful implementation of an environmental policy, in which candidates consider the various challenges encountered during the implementation phase. Goal-setting in the field of environmental management is also discussed, along with the importance of clearly communicating responsibilities and continuously monitoring performance.

Module 9 - Checking Environmental Performance

The ninth module takes an in-depth a look at environmental performance monitoring, in which candidates learn how to effectively assess and measure the environmental performance of an organisation or entity.  Course content also covers the functions and objectives of environmental audits, along with data analysis in the field of environmental management.

Module 10 - Reviewing and Reporting Environmental Performance

Bringing the course to a close, module 10 introduces candidates to environmental performance reporting and how to conduct a detailed review.  A series of standardised documents in the field of environmental management are presented and discussed, along with further data analysis techniques and the importance of presenting findings clearly and concisely.
