Unit 3 - Performance Management

Management of employee/workforce performance enters the discussion in Unit 3, in which candidates are taken through the specifics of the performance appraisal, why it is that performance appraisals are carried out and a series of methods/approaches for achieving optimal results.  Course content also covers career development, performance counselling and the concept of the 360-degree appraisal.

Unit 4 - Training & Development

The importance of outstanding training and workforce development represents the primary focus of Unit 4.  Candidates are guided through the process of identifying and addressing training needs, assessing training methods with respect to cost-effectiveness, the most important areas of employee training to consider and why it is necessary to continue providing ongoing coaching and development opportunities.

Unit 5 - Rewarding Employees

Employee motivation and rewards enter the discussion in the fifth course unit, which incorporates an investigation of how and why specific rewards can lead to greater motivation and improved performance as a result.  A series of effective reward systems are explored, along with the establishment of wage structures and an overview of competence-related pay.

Unit 6 - Equal Opportunity and Diversity

Bringing the course to a conclusion, Unit 6 focuses on diversity in the workplace and the importance of creating a culture of equal opportunities.  A variety of key legislative requirements and laws are discussed, including discrimination on marital or gender grounds, disability requirements and a series of strategies for effectively managing workplace diversity.
