Unit 4 – Event Concept and Theme

The fourth unit turns focus to the more creative side of event planning and management, incorporating event themes and concepts, creative elements and the development of workable and efficient event programs. Candidates are introduced to essential brainstorming skills.

Unit 5 – Event Budget Plan

Budget planning represents the core focus of unit 5, in which candidates learn how to accurately forecast income and expenses in accordance with each event. The core principles and rules of event budgeting are covered, along with the analysis of the event’s unique requirements.

Unit 6 – Venue Selection

The importance of appropriate venue selection is introduced in this unit, which opens candidates up to the development of workable site plans and the various considerations involved in site design.

Unit 7 – Health, Safety and Environmental Issues

The seventh unit moves onto the most crucial health and safety considerations when planning and managing an event, including any potential environmental implications. The unit’s content introduces the provision of services and facilities on-site, along with the phases of an event.

Unit 8 – Marketing the Event

Away from practical event planning and management, candidates discover the importance and key principles of effectively marketing events. The crucial concept of the professional marketing plan is introduced, along with workable marketing strategies and establishing marketing objectives.

Unit 9 – Starting Your Own Even Planning Service

Rounding off, the final unit focuses on the use of all skills, talents and knowledge acquired throughout the course to start a small business. The unit introduces business plan creation, marketing, event management ethics and establishing vital vendor relationships.
