Course Syllabus

Event Planner Course Online, consists of the following five units:

Unit 1 – Event Planning Essentials

In the introductory course unit, candidates learn how to identify the key elements of any given event in order to allow for effective goal-setting and the establishment of primary objectives. The production of a briefing note is also outlined in full, along with a series of budgeting basics and critical conference planning essentials.

Unit 2 – Using the Committee Approach

The second course unit explores event planning and implementation as a team effort, guiding candidates through the selection of the most appropriate team members, delegating the right jobs to the right people, working toward a common goal and building strong connections with sponsors and partners.

Unit 3 – Advertising and Marketing

Course content in Unit 3 brings essential advertising and marketing into discussion, incorporating a comprehensive overview of the marketing process and effective marketing techniques for small and large events alike. Candidates learn how to gather support effectively in the run-up to any corporate event.

Unit 4 – Venue selection and Managing Contracts

The penultimate course unit introduces candidates to a series of core venue-selection and contract-management skills, techniques and theoretical teachings. Core concepts covered include assessing and selecting venues, creating appropriate menus, diversity considerations and the basics of business etiquette.

Unit 5 – Gathering Feedback and closing the Event

Closing out the course, Unit 5 provides candidates with a thorough overview of feedback-gathering techniques and the importance of post-event feedback from clients and delegates alike. Successfully closing events and analysing performance are also touched upon, along with creating conference reports and chairing post-event meetings.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement by ABC Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all the units you have completed as part of your course).
