Certificate in Public Relations (Level 2)

Course Overview

Online Certificate Public Relations

The way in which any brand or business is perceived by the public will always have a marked impact on its respective success or otherwise.  Public opinion is quite simply the most powerful influential factor when it comes to facilitating, furthering or hampering corporate success.  Just as positive public opinion can propel businesses to extraordinary heights practically in an instant, falling out of favour with the public has the potential to harm, even destroy an established brand.

In this Online Certificate Public Relations, candidates are provided with a brief introduction to the subjects of professional PR and the role of the contemporary PR manager. Businesses and public sector organisations alike are fundamentally dependent on strong and consistent public relations in order to operate with strength and long-term viability.  It is the job of the professional public relations manager (or PR department) to take control of building, maintaining and continually monitoring the quality of public relations, in order to ensure public opinion remains positive at all times.

Over the course of four units, candidates are introduced to professional public relations as a business concept, before being guided through the creation of a PR plan, creating the appropriate media image, working with the media to promote and support the brand’s image and ultimately how to deal with a variety of common PR issues and crises.
