Course Syllabus

This PR course is divided into three modules:

Module 1 - PR as Planned Communication

The first course module provides candidates with an insightful introduction to the contemporary concept of PR from a modern business perspective. This is followed by an investigation into effective PR planning processes and the most important core elements thereof, along with the fundamentals of PR planning and an outline of environment analysis.

Module 2 - Public Relations Process

Focus then turns to the PR process in Module 2, which dissects the professional public relations process into its fundamentals and explores each in-depth. Candidates study how PR tactics and strategies must be modified and adapted, in order to be of maximum value in accordance with specific challenges and goals. A number of primary PR tasks and duties are also discussed.

Module 3 - Tools for Public Relations

The course concludes by taking a detailed look at a number of essential tools of importance and value to those working in public relations capacities. Effective PR research and the importance thereof is also discussed, including public research methods, opinion-polling and how advertising and public relations are both very different yet deeply interconnected.
