The course consists of the following seven units:

Unit 1 – Introduction to Project Management

Course content kicks off with a roundup of project management principles, including what project management actually involves, its importance and a range of essential tools & techniques. The first unit also introduces the project life cycle and project constraints.

Unit 2 – Planning a Project

The second unit moves onto the specifics of project planning, including the initiation, planning stages and implementation of projects of various sizes. Candidates also learn about project control and management techniques, along with professional project closure.

Unit 3 – Project Scope Management

In this unit, candidates learn the definitions of project scope and product scope, along with the crucial differences between the two. Scope management plans are introduced, along with scope statement components and plan implementation.

Unit 4 – Project Time Management

The fourth unit focuses on the crucial importance of professional and accurate time management, along with the creation of workable and comprehensive project schedules. Candidates will also learn how to evaluate risk management plans and project constraints.

Unit 5 – Managing Project Quality and Risk

In the fifth unit, course content diverts focus to the identification and management of risks as a project manager. The unit comprehensively introduces the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats matrix (SWOT analysis) and the categorisation of risks identified.

Unit 6 – Managing Communication on a Project

The importance of strong and professional communication for successful project planning and implementation is the focus of unit 6. Candidates are introduced to communications planning and modalities, along with project constraints, assumptions and administrative closures.

Unit 7 – Managing Projects Globally

The seventh and final unit explores the ambitious and rewarding prospect of managing international projects. Content includes how domestic and international projects differ, global communication, conflict management and other essential global knowledge areas.
