Course Syllabus

Thisentry level construction management course is divided into three modules:

Module 1 - Basics of Construction Management

The introductory course module focuses on the fundamental basics of construction management, introducing candidates to what it is the construction manager does and their role as a key player in construction projects of various types. The importance of comprehensive supervision and inspection is outlined and explored, along with managing workforce quality and the benefits of outstanding construction management.

Module 2 - Site Organisation

Course Module 2 shifts focus to site organisation – specifically the role the construction manager plays in organizing, optimizing and generally running a working construction site. An array of critical considerations are brought into discussion, including the provision of on-site offices and other accommodation, provision of boundaries and fencing, storage of materials, tools and equipment, movement of plant machinery, provision of essential utilities and more.

Module 3 - Material Management

Closing the course, Module 3 continues with a deeper exploration of material handling and management. Candidates are introduced to effective working strategies for storing, handling and purchasing materials in the first place, along with a variety of material management challenges and effective contingency planning.
