Why Study Food Hygiene and Safety?

The responsibility for ensuring food products are safe to consume falls with each and every member of the workforce.  Anyone who works with food in any capacity must play a role in ensuring it is safe for consumption.  At every stage of the food supply chain, products and ingredients are exposed to hazards that can jeopardise their safety. The risk of contamination or spoilage is constant, calling for preventative action to be taken at all times. It is only wheneveryworker takes responsibility for food safety that the consumer can be protected from all types of foodborne illness. A good grasp of the fundamentals of food safety is therefore essential for all workers within the food sector.  Whether pursuing promotion or simply looking to run your own business more effectively, this Level 1 Food Hygiene and Safety Award comes highly recommended.
