This Online Project Management Certificate course consists of the following five units:

Unit 1 – Introduction to Project Management

In the first course unit, candidates investigate the role of the project manager and explore the definitions of both business projects and general corporate project management.  Along with an introduction to professional project benefits, candidates are guided through the eight essential elements of a project.

Unit 2 – Project Life Cycle

The second course unit turns attention to the concept of the project life cycle, incorporating a broad overview of each element of the lifecycle and an exploration of the reasons why many projects fail.  Candidates are introduced to the three most effective ways to end projects, essential project selling theory and the priority matrix.

Unit 3 – Project Planning Tools

A variety of essential tools for professional project planning are introduced in Unit 3, which also takes candidates through the core elements of scheduling and preparation.  Additional concepts covered include flow charts, network diagrams, the work breakdown structure and the importance of teamwork.

Unit 4 – Working on A Project

Actually putting a project into practice represents the primary core focus of Unit 4, which introduces candidates to the importance of establishing project goals and the vision process.  Course content also covers professional use of a target chart, an investigation of project deliverables and an overview of S.W.O.T.  analysis.

Unit 5 – Project Risk Management

In the final course unit, candidates are provided with an in-depth introduction to risk management from the perspective of the professional project manager.  Along with essential core teachings on risk identification, tolerance and reduction, course content also covers professional contingency planning.
