This course consists of the following five units:

Unit 1 - Working in a Salon

The first unit serves as a comprehensive introduction to the soft-skills required to successfully work in a salon. Candidates explore the importance of personal hygiene and appearance, basic health and safety guidelines and the safe use of salon tools and equipment.

Unit 2 - Related Anatomy and Physiology

In order to provide professional beauty therapy services, it is important to understand related anatomy and physiology. In the second unit, the course syllabus moves onto an exploration of how the skin, hair, muscles and blood play key roles in both health and beauty.

Unit 3 - Skin Analysis and Facial Treatment

In this unit, candidates learn the most important skills and techniques required to perform professional skin analysis in order to determine appropriate treatments. Topics covered include facial products and their functions, massage therapy, mask therapy and recognising skin types.

Unit 4 - Application of Makeup

The fourth unit focuses on the development of professional-level makeup application skills and the proper use of related tools and equipment.  Candidates will also gain essential knowledge of common and popular cosmetics used in professional environments.

Unit 5 - Manicure and Pedicure

In the fifth and final unit, the course moves onto manicure and pedicure skills, covering the techniques and tools required to perform professional treatments. Theoretical study and practical experience combine to bring about total confidence and competence in candidates.
