Course Syllabus

This Writing a Business Plan Course Online, consists of the following five units:

Unit 1 – What is a Business Plan For

In the first of five intensive course units, candidates are guided through the purpose and specifics of the business plan in a 21st century business context. Course content covers the identification and analysis of target audiences, business value definition, analysis/gathering of information and the most important rules for writing a business plan.

Unit 2 – Defining Your Company

Identifying and defining company relevance/position forms the core focus of Unit 2, which explores the importance of the brand’s unique selling point (USP). Penning company descriptions is also outlined in detail, along with creating powerful product/service descriptions, analysing the market and creating an operations plan.

Unit 3 – Creating a Marketing Strategy

Marketing strategy development forms the central theme of Unit 3, incorporating key insights on market and consumer analysis, distribution channel analysis and selection, how to effectively evaluate and review a marketing strategy and the potential power of social media from a marketing perspective.

Unit 4 – Creating the Sales Plan

The fourth course unit takes an in-depth look at the business sales plan. Candidates are guided through the core elements of the business sales plan and how to successfully create a plan, alongside an introduction to the sales cycle theory.

Unit 5 – Developing Financial Projections

In the fifth and final course unit, candidates are introduced to the most important fundamental accounting terminology, along with the development of accurate financial projections. The importance of sound financial planning and the specifics thereof are investigated in-depth, along with an overview of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
