Course Syllabus

Course Content

The risk management course (level 1) is divided into three modules:

Module 1 - Basics of Risk Management

The opening course module focuses on risk management as a modern business concept, walking candidates through what it is that the risk manager does and why their role is of critical importance. The purpose of risk management in a business setting is explored, along with the recent evolution of the concept and how certain risk management tools can be put to effective use.

Module 2 - Types of Risk

Specific classifications and types of risk are investigated in greater depth in Module 2, along with their respective effects on the modern business. Risk types introduced and discussed include financial risk, market risk, liquidity risk, economic risk, technological risk, political risk and more.

Module 3 - Introduction to Enterprise Risk Management

In the third and final course module, the benefits and objectives of enterprise risk management are broken down and explored at length. The true value of strategic ERM is discussed, along with how the professional risk manager contributes to the cause and why it is necessary for businesses intending to grow and thrive to take certain risks on a routine basis.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievementfrom ABC Awards and Certa Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
