Certificate in Team Leading QLS Level 3

Course Overview

Leadership Skills Course

The success of any manager or supervisor will always be measured in accordance with the performance and professionalism of the team they oversee.  The simple fact of the matter is that there is a very big difference between telling a team what to do and inspiring team members to aspire to reach their full potential, day in and day out.  While anyone can pen a list of instructions and delegate duties, leading a team by example and generally becoming a positive role model for others is an altogether more difficult challenge.  The rewards that come with the development of outstanding team leader skills however can be attractive to say the least.

This Leadership Skills Course, represents the ideal course for those looking to develop professional-level supervisory skills and the core qualities it takes to inspire others. Contemporary team leaders are expected to master a wide variety of disciplines, including conflict resolution, constant problem solving, motivating others even during the most difficult of times and generally building a sense of unity and cohesion between all team members. Certain character traits are essential for becoming a successful team leader – as is a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of what is expected of you.

Over the course of six intensive units, candidates are introduced to the roles and responsibilities of the modern team leader, along with both the specifics and the importance of creating a strong team culture. The development and maintenance of outstanding interpersonal communications skills also feature heavily, along with the importance of effective listening skills and various approaches to employee motivation. Conflict resolution is also introduced, along with how to deal with difficult employees and an overview of disciplinary procedures.
