This Online Communication Skills Course, consists of the following three units:

Unit 1 – Communication Basics

The opening course unit introduces the basics of effective communication to candidates, providing an in-depth overview of self-awareness development, the building of positive interpersonal relationships, the importance of asking the right questions and a series of effective probing techniques.

Unit 2 – Listening Skills

Course content throughout the second unit centres on the development of active listening skills, along with an exploration of the differences between ‘hearing’ and ‘listening’. A variety of tips for improving listening skills are introduced, along with an introduction to reading cues and demonstration cues.

Unit 3 – Body Language

Non-verbal communication and the importance of its role represents the main topic area for the third unit. Candidates investigate how body language influences interpersonal communication, along with a wide variety of messages/signals people send without having to say a word.

Unit 4 – Communication Styles

In the fourth and final unit of the course, focus turns to both the creation of a strong self-image and an exploration of effective techniques for both delivering a message and being heard in a working environment.  Candidates are also introduced to the assertiveness formula and the role it plays in effective workplace communications.
