Course Syllabus

Online internet marketing Certificate, consists of the following six units:

Unit 1 – What is Internet Marketing?

The first unit of the course provides a broad introduction to internet marketing. Candidates are introduced to the basic concepts of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), social media, email marketing, affiliate programmes and web development and design. Content explores how each entity can assist web marketing efforts.

Unit 2 – Creating an Internet Marketing Plan

Course content in the second unit moves on to the creation of a workable and effective internet marketing plan. The unit covers the importance of internet marketing, introducing the concepts of the marketing cycle and market and consumer analysis. Candidates also learn about competition evaluation.

Unit 3 – E-Mail Marketing

E-mail marketing remains the main focus of the third module, discussing the specifics of what email marketing is and how it works. Candidates are also guided through what it is that makes e-mail marketing such a uniquely powerful platform.

Unit 4 – Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

The fourth unit revolves around SEO - aka Search Engine Optimisation. Candidates explore what SEO is as a concept, how it works and where it fits into the web marketing mix. This unit also introduces the concepts of search engines, keyword optimization and SERP (Search Engine Results Page) rankings.

Unit 5 – Advertising Online

The main focus of the fifth module is online advertising, with candidates being guided through the concept as a whole and how to make a success of web marketing efforts. Addition key topics including PPC (Pay per Click), account setup, choice of keywords and ad-composition are also introduced.

Unit 6 – Social Media Marketing

In the sixth and final unit, candidates investigate the power, reach and scope of social media marketing. Course content covers the development of a social media plan, expansion of an online presence, blog creation and an introduction to Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook and YouTube.
