Unit 2 – Fundamentals of Administrative Management

The most important fundamentals of administrative management are introduced in Unit 2, in which candidates explore what exactly administrative management is and what professional administrators do. A variety of management characteristics and functions are outlined, while candidates also explore the principles of management and its importance

Unit 3 – HR Management

Course Unit 3 focuses primarily on human resource management – specifically the role the HR manager plays in the wider business. HR ethics are introduced alongside a breakdown of what exactly the HR manager is responsible for, with course content moving on to introduce HR planning, the core objectives of HR management and the benefits of strong HR leadership.

Unit 4 – Performance Management

The fourth course unit explores the way in which performance management is of critical importance to the overall performance of the wider business. Course content focuses heavily on the fundamentals and benefits of quality performance management, while introducing candidates to performance reviews and motivational strategies.

Unit 5 – Managing Finance

The fundamentals of financial management follow in Unit 5, which focuses largely on the purpose of financial management and the responsibilities of those working in the field. Unit 6 – Managing Resources

Unit 7 – Effective Marketing

As one of the most important of all business fundamentals, candidates are guided through the basics of marketing in Unit 7. The value and importance of the professional marketing plan represent the core focus topics of the unit, along with an exploration of the ‘Six Ps’ of marketing and an overview of the modern marketing mix.

Unit 8 – Business Communications and Report Writing

Course Unit 8 sets out to help candidates build strong, effective and confident business report writing skills. A variety of key business communications are broken down and explored in-depth, along with the role they play in a business environment. Business reports are investigated in terms of their structure, their importance and the difference between effective and ineffective business communications.

Unit 9 – Time, Stress and Crisis Management

Candidates are then introduced to the concepts of crisis management, time management and stress management – all from the perspective of a working administrator. Stress management techniques are outlined and explored, along with strategies for making better use of available time and how to cope in times of crisis. The corporate crisis management plan is also dissected and discussed.

Unit 10 – Assess, Manage and Monitor Risks

Corporate risk management forms the core focus of Unit 10, breaking the subject down into its most important core elements and exploring the history of the concept. Risk management tools and strategies are brought into discussion, along with why it is that the modern business is so fundamentally dependant on those with strong risk management skills.

Unit 11 – Building and Maintaining Effective Customer Relations

Course Unit 11 explores the relationship between the business and the customer – specifically the importance of both building and retaining strong customer ties. Both ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ customer types are introduced along with their respective traits, while candidates also explore relationship management, reputation management and more.

Unit 12 – Team Management

The primary benefits and importance of quality team management form the central theme in Unit 12. Along with an exploration of Bruce Tuckman's Team Development Model, candidates discover the secrets behind building effective teams, the effects of poor team management and the various types of team within a business.

Unit 13 – Starting a Business

Bringing the course to a close, Unit 13 provides candidates with an outstanding introduction to starting a business from scratch. The unique benefits of going into business privately are outlined and explored, along with how to write an effective business plan, the basics of business marketing, cost projections, budgeting and so much more.
