Course Syllabus

Financial Management Course Online, consists of the following four units:

Unit 1 – The Fundamentals of Finance

In the first unit, the concept of business finance is explored along with the responsibilities and challenges of the professional budget planner.  Candidates are also introduced to the critically important accounting cycle.

Unit 2 – Budget Planning Basics

The basics of budget planning form the core focus of Unit 2, which centres on how to define a budget, the various types of business budgets and the core elements of a budget. The budgeting process is explored in-depth, building on the theoretical teachings of Unit 1.

Unit 3 – Monitoring and Managing Budgets

The third unit takes an in-depth look at ratio analysis, covering what the term refers to, how it works and why it is of such critical importance.  Candidates are also guided through a series of valuable teachings on how to ensure a proposed budget is successfully approved.

Unit 4 – Comparing Investment Opportunities

In the fourth and final unit, course content moves onto investment opportunity comparison, incorporating teachings on cost-benefit analysis, evaluating potential investment returns, sound decision-making in a business context and ISO 9001:2008.
