Unit 1 – What is Anger?

In the first course unit, candidates are introduced to a variety of theoretical teachings and core concepts behind anger as a whole. The way in which anger has a marked impact on the human body, mind and behaviour is investigated in-depth, along with personal anger pay-offs and the ‘five dimensions’ of anger.

Unit 2 – The Anger Process

Course content in the second unit focuses attention on the anger process with a comprehensive definition and exploration, along with an introduction to triggers thoughts. Candidates also explore the creation, purpose and potential value of the anger log in documenting and identifying key anger triggers.

Unit 3 – How Does Anger Affect Our Thinking?

In the third unit, candidates are introduced to how and why human thinking and reasoning are affected by anger, investigating the question of whether or not anger is ever the best response to any given eventuality. Course content also covers better-understanding a variety of behaviour types and the concept of distorted thinking.

Unit 4 – Managing Anger

In the fourth and final course unit, a variety of effective anger management techniques are introduced and explored. Candidates are guided through relaxation techniques, the importance of asking the right questions, the development of better listening skills and how to apply the ‘assertive formula’ in a real-life scenario.
