Module 1 - An Introduction to the Interior Design Profession

The course begins by providing candidates with a detailed overview of the interior design profession, focusing on the functions and objectives of contemporary interior design.  The fundamentals of effective residential design are also discussed, along with common challenges to successful interior design and the benefits of building close ties with vendors and suppliers.

Module 2 - Design Elements

An introduction to the four most important interior design elements follows in module two - each of which is discussed individually and collectively.  The importance of carefully considering Space, Colour, Patterns and Textures as an interior designer is explored, along with how each of these elements contributes to a wider design project.

Module 3 - The Principles of Design

Concluding the course, module three turns attention to the seven core principles of interior design - Contrast, Balance, Scale, Proportion, Unity, Variety and Emphasis.  As before, each of these interior design principles is considered both individually and collectively.
